In a room by a lamp
Shining bright upon a table.
I rock on a chair
Thinking all might not be stable.
By the window looking out
Into the busy city street,
The nights pass by like a shutter of a camera,
The picture cannot lie.
I wonder, wonder of a time that past,
Was it meant to go away so fast?
In a blink of an eye the world changed,
Never to come back.
Names fade to yesterday,
Trying not to forget.
The day rolls by like a thief in the night.
Your love, once so strong,
Fights to hang on to it's meaning.
The ages have grown so far,
But still we'll always feel the same.
Watching all growing older by the minute,
Faster in every heartbeat.
Memories disintegrate
Into from where they came to wonder.
The life in us will live on forever.
I wonder, wonder of a time that past,
Was it meant to go away so fast?
In a blink of an eye the world changed,
Never to come back.
